About Us
The Michigan General Defense Committee (GDC) is a revolutionary organization with local chapters in Washtenaw, Lansing, and Detroit.
Our main purpose is to advance revolution against capitalism and all accompanying forms of oppression, towards a more just, free, and egalitarian world. This is to say: we are a communist organization.
We aim to advance mass struggle across many fields such as tenant organizing, immigrant defense, houseless organizing and survival work, anti-imperialism, anti police and prison work, among others. Wherever there is the possibility of mass struggle against oppression, we seek to advance it on a revolutionary road.
